Sony Ericsson Cosplay Wallpaper

This is a special pre-Cosfest event for cosplayers to take part in and win the latest Sony Ericsson phones.

 

Sony Ericsson Cosplay Wallpaper Competition

RULES AND REGULATIONS

Global Online Cosplay Competition


1) All entries must be from Japanese Anime/Games/Manga genre.
This competition is open to Cosplayers all over the World.
Each individual or pair can submit as many entries as they wish.

2) You can choose to enter the competition as a solo cosplayer or as a pair in the photo. Please note that if
entering the competition as a pair, both cosplayers must be cosplaying from the same series, though not neccessarily the same installation.(ie. It is allowed to have a Final Fantasy 8 character together with a Final Fantasy 12 character in the same photo)

3) All entries must have the logo of Sony Ericsson in the top right hand corner of the wallpaper. Please do not shift the logo's location. The template has been optimised for Andriod mobile phones.

4) As this is a wallpaper for mobile phones, the dimensions are 960(width) x 854(height).

5) Please use the following template to start on making your first cosplay wallpaper.

Template

The cosplay wallpaper templete is a 960(width) x 854(height) file with two Sony Ericsson Logos(one for black backgrounds and one for white backgrounds).

Please do not alter the position of the logo. In making the cosplay wallpaper, you can select between using one of either logo, depending on your background.

If your background is light, please use the logo with the black font "Sony Ericsson". If your background is dark, please use the logo with the white font.

Cosplay Wallpaper Judging Criteria


The Cosplay Wallpapers will be submitted to our Cosfest Facebook Page.

The top 10 entries with the most number of "likes" will be shortlisted and the winners for First, Second, and Third Prize will be evaluated by the organisers.

All entries(single or pair)will be judged together and the top 10 will be picked out from the highest number of "Likes"in our Cosfest Facebook.

The top 10 leading Sony Ericsson Cosplay Wallpaper winners will be announced during Cosfest on the 25th June 2011.

Upon emergence of the top 10 cosplay wallpapers,

At this juncture, the Judging Criteria would be:

Asthetics 40%

[This refers to the presentation of the wallpaper]

Creativity 20%

[Expression of ideas and the feeling you are trying to bring across]

Costume 40%

 

How the Prizes are given

After the top 10 finalists are chosen by public voting on Facebook, our panel of Judges will then conduct the Final Judgement.

In the scenario that the winning entry that the judges choose is a pair entry, the two cosplayers joining the competition will get the First and Second Prize.

Conversely, if the top 3 winning entries are all solo-cosplayer entries, the prizes will be given out as normal.

 

Datelines

The Sony Ericsson Cosplay Wallpaper Cosplay Competition will start on the 20th May 2011.

Submission and voting period is scheduled to end on the 22nd June 2011. *Competition extended to 31 July 2011.

 

If the winner is an overseas cosplayer, we will send the prize to you.

The results of winning entries will be placed on this site. Results will be out on the 15 August 2011 and prizes will be sent out on the 20 August 2011.

How to join

Submit your cosplay wallpaper entry to us at cosplaywallpaper@cosfest.com

Please make sure that the submitted file is:

1) 72 DPI
2) Saved as JPEG Format

Please provide us your details:

1) Full name(s) if submitting in pairs

2) Cosplay Name

3) Country that you are from

4) Cosplayed Character

5) Series that you are cosplaying from

Your photos will be uploaded onto our Cosfest Facebook.

 

The next step is to get your friends to start voting for you!

 

How to vote for the Cosplay Wallpapers you like:

1) "Like" us on our Cosfest Facebook

2) Click on your favourite Cosplay Wallpapers and "like" it. Each like is one vote towards that cosplayer or cosplay pair.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

About the Cosplay Wallpaper

The Cosplay Wallpaper submitted could be of the cosplayer in a costume with the photo taken in a scenic place.

Otherwise, it could also be a photo where fantasy backgrounds have been editted into the wallpaper to act as a scenary for the cosplayer

In the scenario where it is a pair entry, you could either use photos that you have taken together or you could photoshop another of your cosplayer friend into the photo.
(note that your friend must also be applying to join the competition together with you and that you must be from the same series.)

You are encouraged to use Photoshop or Illustrator to enhance your photo.

Creativity is good.
